POWERIN' UP WITH PRONOUNS

I finally introduced my babes to pronouns this week.  This standard had been tucked away in a forgotten file in my brain and I'm so glad that I "located it" sooner rather than later.

Here are a few of the fun centers/activities we rolled with this week. The kids really got into it and most picked up the concept quickly!

After introducing the whole idea of pronouns, singin' Ron Brown's amazing Pronoun song (more on this later), and completing some paper/pencil stuff together, we launched into some games.  The doozie below is called the Pronoun Spin Off.

They were workin' hard the whole time and all of my babes "got it!"
I love the one . . . "She is hot." Out of context it seems horrid.  However, the backstory is classic.
This little girl was sitting next to the doll who kept complaining that
she was "hot" (as in temperature)!!!

My babes each got their own spinner and started flickin'.  The kiddlets would use each "flicked" pronoun in a sentence.  Then, they would rewrite the sentence using a corresponding noun in place of the pronoun (that was a roundabout way of telling about this . . . am I making ANY sense??  Eh, ignore me . . . just look at the picture)!!??!!

We also completed lots of hands-on sorts during reading groups.  The kids manipulated cards to and completed a corresponding paper/pencil task.  These really helped them master the concept.

Finally, we created our pronoun patch.  I forgot to take pictures (duh, Dolling). But, these little flowers turned out super cute and they made the best learning based bulletin board.  Here's a picture of my sample!

All of these ditties are available in my Pronoun Power Pack.  This collection even includes a free Pronoun song from Ron Brown's Intelli-Tunes!!  CLICK HERE to take a little listen!

I am off to work on that Summary/Retell Packet . . . I think I FINALLY turned the corner on this one as it has been coming together as of late. Hopefully, I'll be back this weekend to tell you all about it and to offer up a fun little freebie. Hugs y'all . . . Merry {almost} Friday!  Spring Break here I COOOOOOOOOME!
